... the water. It is quite a walk, physically and visually. Being so high up, everywhere we go is stairs and steep roads. And at every turn, you see the magnificent, blue Tyrrhenian Sea. I know I have said it before, but I marvel at the elderly folk of these towns and how they manage to negotiate the very steepness of their environment. Slow and steady, that's how they walk. ... chandeliers. It's simply spectacular, so I sit in silence and awe and take it all in. Of historic interest is that the bones of Saint Andrew, Jesus's first disciple, were brought here in 1208, and lie hidden under a heavy slab of marble under the altar. Apparently for over 750 years on the eve of the Saints holiday, a dense liquid, Manna, appears and for the Amalfitani, is a sign that inspires feelings of intense spirituality!

... and a small beach but it was a great spot to have lunch and some vino. We put a roof on the boat and learned how to tie a fisherman's knot ... After twenty tries I think I got it! Mr. Nicola made us sandwiches with vegetables from his garden and I supplied the vino from the corner store. We will call it even!
