... church lit up with a show of lights then fireworks, they must have known we were coming. There is a parade tomorrow and then on Friday the locals prepare food for everyone to celebrate the new domed roof on the church.
Oh how the others live, we are in a lovely villa high on the cliff edge with nothing but sea and the village in view and the odd luxury boat.

... to Praiano. I was sitting behind him, so I couldn't see how fast he was driving, but it was bloody quick - and one handed! Then his phone rang, and he answered it!! Mama Mia! ... worse for wear after consuming more alcohol last night than I'm used to (these days I've really have become a light weight!) I'm feeling a little tender and the 20min bus ride with the constant blasting of the horn, and the tight corners doesn't help my head...but I'm on holiday so I'd still rather make the most of my day....after what seems like a long journey I alight at the bus stop, make my way down the stairs, pay my 5 euro entrance fee ...

... domo, creating a spectacular light show, as dancers enter twisting and turning and nimbly dancing between the candles. They attempt to light them, which I can tell now must be kerosene, but alas the wind is not co-operating, so although I can see the concept will be beautiful, it doesn't eventuate. I feel for them as the crowd begins to leave, as I do as well, but with another 2 days to go, decide I'll cross my fingers for a still night, and come back another night....

... I was pleased with our choice! Praiano village was small and unpretentious but with some excellent restaurants.

Hotel Fioriere also turned out to be a good choice for us with a stunning rooftop bar that opened only in the evenings for drinks and bar snacks. With music playing, we would sit outside in the warm evening, watching the twinkling lights switch on in neighboring picturesque Positano as the mauve sky turned dark.
