... and dried cherries, gorgonzola and nuts with a tangy dressing made with infused vinegars and oils. Really wonderful.

And... no travel would be complete without ice cream or gelato and this visit was no exception as Nancie introduced me to Moran Gelato. It was so good, I visited twice and even met Elana's friend, Jonah for some tasty gelato!

... than enough!  However, we are splurging on the "expensive" $10 tickets for the Budweiser brewery tour in St. Louis. I'm looking forward to seeing the Clydesdale's close up.  Not as close as Darcy got to them when she was a kid. Apparently her Dad took the family to see them at a fair in Maine but they were late, so he talked the handler into letting her get INTO the horse trailer WITH the Clydesdale's!  Of course, this is the same man who took her and her sisters to ...

We're going to Nashville! Made reservations last night just outside in the town of Springfield. Something less than $100/night including tax. (And 4.5% cash back from Ebates!) Nashville was WAY too expensive. I think the lowest price we found was $166 and it was an Econolodge!

Next up, Louisville. Going to see the ponies at Churchill Downs.

... most of the hotels are not that cheap, like three nights on the south rim at the Grand Canyon? $$$!!! Speaking of saving money.  Our American the Beautiful Pass came in the mail yesterday.  For $80 it's a good way to save some green, and see as many national parks and recreation areas as you can for one year.   Yosemite - check!  Grand Canyon - check check!  ...

In a later chapter about "embracing life," the author quotes her patient saying: "When you are walking on thin ice, you might as well dance."

Life with cancer means "doing it anyway." It means, finding freedom from the fear of both the journey and the outcome. It means seeking joy in each day. It's mid April and we still have ice in the Upper Valley. It's getting thinner; just perfect for dancing on.
