Ave Francisco I Madero X Guerrero Isla Mujeres, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
We made it to Mexico after 30 hours of travel. We had a great feast of mexican last night while listening to a mariachi band play and the flambe waiters make all sorts of desserts, coffees and lobster. It felt great to sit in the humid heat and be on vacation.
My pina coloada was the length of my arm! Watched Buffalo clobber ...
... at today. To earn a bit of extra cash they have caught a shark, made a little pen for it and charge tourists 100 pesos to take photos lifting it. I was asked to pay 25 pesos after I took this photo of poor little sharky. I hope they only keep it for a little while and then get a different one.
The tour ended after lunch, time for a siesta.
Later on while walking by the beach I was talked in to another snorkeling ...
... doesn’t sound so great, so I ask when I can actually reserve a seat. The reply is Dec. 26th. Yikes.
So a bunch of us try to go standby on Delta, but that is terrible and they only accept 2 people off the list. A couple of us are really worried about making it to Nashville so we get together and decide that we might try renting a car. So we take the shuttle to various rental agencies and finally find a place that will let us rent a ...
... some fantastic photos from the very end of the island where you can actually go down from the cliffs and it's the very first point in Mexico where the sun rises every day. How cool is that? I have to do it next time. Driving back to the northern end of the island it's cool to take that eastern road which goes by the seaside and you can stop on one of those rocky beaches and collect some huge shells (but think ...
Isla Mujeres, Mexico paula.ka... would have been grand! And they still canīt figure out how they managed to create the acoustics with the main pyramid. Actually I could go on, itīs pretty cool. Anyway, I came back to Kelly talking to 2 guys that had been in Cuba and between everything she bailed. Pity, we would have had great fun! What else...oh, my camera is officially dead. Thank you very much Mr Rip-me-off Hong-Kong-man. Hopefully I can rescue some pics when I get home.
Isla Mujeres, Mexico travelberry... out it is very clean and we have a great roommate from Argentina, Gaby, who is 25 and is a lone traveller. We had dinner with her tonight and have plans to do the beach tomorrow, and ladies night in the eve. Seems like we have made a new friend, and perhaps a party pal! We plan on heading out on Friday for Belize, but who knows what will happen next! We will keep you all posted. Love Kirsten and Kate

Isla Mujeres, Mexico guscaesar... loads of obviously harmless sharks, sting rays and other big fish. We also saw lots of brightly coloured fish and at the last place there were Manatees (sea cows) which we swam with.....we were lucky cos its only lately that they had been swimming in the area. On Friday we spend the whole day travelling...passed through the Mexican border and ended at Playa del Carmen which is an hour down the coast from Cancun. the beaches are bright white because of the coral....so we sunbathed and ...
Cancun, Mexico lucytCancun!
