... garbage because we got lost. It went from "get on highway 27" to "take the exit"(Which exit?!?!?!). I exited off the toll highway, and we asked the toll attendant directions to the airport, and I was able to understand some of the spanish she spoke, so we followed her directions. Since I was pretty good at reading maps, we stopped in the middle of a sketch neighborhood so Derek could drive. I was starting to get nervous because we were driving and we ...

... the final river when I got to end of the beach and hiked from rock to rock. A local stopped me and told me you can hike all the way to the next beach and take the local bus back. I wasn't sure if I was feeling that adventurous but I set out to see how far I could go. I saw lots of hermit crabs and eggs on the rocks. We met up with Joyce, Tom and the rest of the gang outside the restaurant just before 7.30 and had a very nice dinner with the plus two of their trivia companions. I had the mushroom tart, salmon and salad and a grand marnier soufflé. Doug also had the tart and the soufflé but chose calamari as his main course.

Tired, we headed back to our cabin … another early start tomorrow - Oh Boy !!!

I found Brooke wandering around the school, so I just decided to grab her and have her walk around Jaco with me. We had a great time, found a souvenir place I have to go back to, found a smoothie store (thank heavens - the heat today has been overwhelming!), and found some possible tours/adventures to go to. Brooke is a beauty -it's the half Asian in her, I tell you! She's lovely as lovely can get. Young 18 year old ready to take on the world. We got ...

... drop point. Carrying 8-10 kilos of pebbles over distances of between 100 metres and 1 kilometre, was at times tedious and gruelling, however I actually came to enjoy it. Thinking of the exercise and seeing the path extend, bit by bit, was very satisfying. I also got plenty of time to contemplate the world on each of my runs. It was very hot work and we would end up pretty filthy; the mud turning my skin paler, like I'd been in a flour fight. We'd work through until around 10.30am ...
