A volcanic explosion 600 years BC, of 20 square miles might have been the main cause of the start of the disappearance of the Minoan civilization in this region. The explosion of the volcano created the caldera, and you can see of layers of volcanic ashes in the cliff. some of the ashes are black, but you see some red ashes as well. We met our ...

... been built so close to the edge of the cliff and the area is so dry.  We went back to our hotel had a swim in the pool and sat on our balcony with some local Greek wine and watched a beautiful sunset! Wow, I had to pinch myself to make sure I was really here! I've always dreamed of coming to the Greek islands and watching the sunset over the ocean and the colors of the sunset shining on the lovely white and blue buildings along the cliffs. ...
