Personally I don't see the big hype about this place, it's just a beach with an average city right next to it. I didn't spend long here but I did go for a really nice run along the beach and the girls and I went on the famous Backpackers Big Night Out which was average, an alright night but it doesn't cut the top ten! The hostel we stayed in was one of the best I've been in, free wifi, nice size, not too big, huge TV ...
... a friend Sarah met in Sydney Laura joins us and we decide we want to go to the water theme park close by (and kim too), who's staying in Surfers at the moment with family. We head to local night club 'Sin city' with about 30 other people from the hostel and ends up being an amazing night, best one we've had out here, think we crawl into bed about 3:30am. ... They play films pretty much back to back so we caught the end of Stepbrothers and then half watched Ali. At around 7, a guy who works for the hostel came around asking if anyone wanted to order pizza. Rikki and I gave each other a knowing look, neither of us wanting to brave the weather again. So we split a pepperoni pizza between us. And that was about the highlight of our day. Fingers crossed the weather will improve as we head up the coast. Next stop, Brisbane tomorrow ...
... our program and headed to Mount Tamborin instead where we visited the interesting Glow Worm Cave (man made but nevertheless cool to see so many glow worms) and the Curtis Falls. Back in Surfers we had a fantastic Japanese Dinner in a restaurant recommended by Chika.
The next day we said good-bye to Surfers Paradise and headed of towards Noosa Head a up-scale, touristy town with a nice beach and later on to Hervey Bay where we stayed at a lovely ...
