We stopped in Surfers Paradise for three days and it is the best and worst place at the same time. It reminded me of what Benidorm would be, so you can imagine what it's like. On the beach there are huge sky scrapers all along the beach front, and then the city itself is pretty tacky but had a lot going on. Even though we were completely exhausted from partying in Brissie and I had basically lost my voice, we somehow ...

We have been at Nobby Beach for almost two weeks. Our friends from Brisbane have a holiday unit here right on the beach and very generously offered us the use of it. Our stay began with a great night entertaining friends from Canberra & Coolangatta. Quite a bit of beer/wine was also consumed so our friends had a sleepover and we walked along the beachfront for 5 mins to have breakfast ...

... this time to tour the Whitsunday Islands, finishing up on Whitehaven Beach. There are something like 90 islands in the group, some inhabited as resorts others not, but all very scenic. The jewel in the crown though, is Whitehaven Beach, an absolutely stunning wide bay with clear blue waters gently lapping onto a pure whitest of white sandy beach. Too bright to look on without sunglasses, the colour comes from the sand which is pure Silica. Behind the beach ...

... was pretty nice. They served fruits, pastas, salads, sausages, schnitzel, beer and wine and I was stuffed! There's also this East Indian lady who loves to talk to everyone. She's actually kinda weird, but really nice lady, and she made a bunch of East Indian food for the barbie as well.

For the rest of the day I just tried to look up for free stuff to do around here. Can't really afford to do any tours or anything yet since my cheque from the farm haven't gone through ...
