We started by having a look at the very busy port area (ships queued up for miles out in the shipping channel), and saw the Rottnest Island ferry returning, then really only got to do a few laps around the town for 20 minutes or so before we had to leave and go to Cottesloe for dinner - Fremantle is such a beautiful, pretty, historical place, it would be good to spend more time here and have a good look around and get lots of good ...

      ... in a bed (pushed up against one wall). On it's own that wasn't a problem, the lack of a window didn't help, but to be fair our hotel room didn't have one either, so again not the end of the world. The grey paint did give it a police cell feel. The main problem with our cell was the incessant banging noise. We never worked out what it was, possibly a fan somewhere, but it wasn't conducive for a good nights sleep. That and the banging ...
