... as good as the others, so we packed it to take home (whilst trying not to offend our server, who did give us his number at the end of the meal). The whole thing was €23. After our complimentary watermelon we went across the road and bought a tub of Ben and Jerry's Half Baked, which was a whopping €7.20, but no complaints as we ate in bed watching 10 Things I Hate About You. We got back to shore about 5pm and everyone ...

We picked up some picnic snacks and walked down in the intense heat. We found some deck chairs and parked up for the rest of the day. It was sooooo hot! But finally we were on the beach with the water in rolling distance! The water was amazing!! A million times better than the beach we went to in Santorini. This beach actually had sand and the water ...

... off steam. Another hours drive and I am really sleepy so we find a taverna and have more coffee and a second breakfast of eggs fried in olive oil, crusty bread to mop up and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. This is served on a terrace covered with flowering geraniums, jasmine, grape vines and lots of things I cannot name. It is all so lush and pretty just next to the main road. Dawdle south across the mainland through ...
