At about 8.30, we set out for tea. We looked out the window and saw McDonalds and Pizza Hut and decided to head in that direction (a food court maybe?) ... Things are also at a much slower, calmer pace than anywhere I have visited before. Men sit in the street shirtless, legs crossed reading the paper. Women sit in the markets with their families or friends, chatting loudly and animated. They appear as if they take life a day at a time, no rush to get anywhere, no where particular to be. We then returned across the river once again heading back to the hotel for another shower. It must be the hottest day we have had so far; 35c but feels like 48c!
Have now started packing before going out to eat this evening. We have an early start tomorrow; breakfast at 0600 and pick-up at 0645-0700 for transfer to the airport. We fly at 0900 to Kota Kinabalu!
