      Arrived here about 4.30pm. Haven't had much of a look round yet, but first impressions are a busy, less friendly city than Istanbul. Euro not as nice as Turkish lira. Hotel adequate although small in size. Very close to Syntagma Square and easy to get to from airport.
      Feeling pretty shocked to learn of another plane crash on news tonight.
      Greek is even harder to read and understand than Turkish. At least Turkey used the same alphabet!
