    ... in Madrid we had to catch a train inside the airport to collect our bags. The airport was humongous! We did the usual customs stuff and then met our lovely little driver and I assume his wife? She didn't speak for the entire journey so I assume she couldn't speak English. I want to say our guide/driver's name was Pablo but I would be lying. Could have been Pancho or Palso. Not sure. He was a legend though.     ... all the olympic torches through history (well most!). There was even the place which is where each of the Olympic flames begin life before travelling to designated city for the Olympics.     Again we didn't have any plans for today, we set off driving along the road that ran across the top of the mountains that meet the sea, we pulled out behind a fire engine that gave us a peep and a wave, as we started to descend towards a village in the next bay we could only see dirt roads on the other side that Doris wasn't showing on her system.     ... downpour ensued! My overall impression of Athens is a city that feels depressed; lots of graffiti and run-down buildings - it's not a place that calls me back (Di) Off to Dubai, then Singapore via Colombo...think I'll be looking forward to the bed in Singapore!
