      ... to stop, we looked at a beach front parking area, as we drove along we attracted a pack of dogs, the chase your wheel type, they ran in front and at the side of us barking for about half a kilometre, it's a wonder they don't get flattened, they were close a few times today.

      ... gullies where recently there has been some serious flooding, what is left of the path is very narrow. We took a few photos and headed back, the sun was just starting to set and the sky was looking very pretty at first orange and the changing to a deep red colour.       ... how deep the water was and I wasn't volunteering to wade it find out, as we were on our own we decided to reverse out and retrace our steps. Back at the main road we drove into Keramoti to catch a ferry to Thassos, one of Greece's greenest and gentle islands. It has sandy beaches hidden in rocky coves and pine clad mountains. As we approached the ferry an official waved us to hurry, the ferry is about to go. We quickly bought the ticket and with 2 minutes to spare we drove on. ...

      ... a very steep track to find it, but couldn't, as we walked back down a man who followed us down the track, tookus to the rocks carved with pictures, they weren't too impressive but the man was kind to take us and as usual not a word was understood by either party.

      ... on the beaches at night and drank too much retsina one night and missed going out to the island Thassos which is just off the coast from here because we weren't feeling too good in the morning!

      There is a well preserved acqueduct in the town and a huge city wall and fort on top of the hill, overlooking the port and fishing boats. Again there are lots of cafés and delicious cake shops!
