      Well I suppose the end of my trip had to have some bad weather! We reached Nisos Kasos and tied-up in the corner of the harbour against the wall with little time to spare before the full gale hit the area. The waves crashed against the outer breakwater and others washed right over the 25-30m jetty creating a waterfall by us and the local boats.       ... 20m to the bottom and so still it was like gliding.
      The almost deserted and ruined village at the head of the inlet had only one elderly Greek lady and one not quite so elderly gentleman living there in quite desolate conditions. They had sheep for company and the occasional yachtie calling in for shelter. We could not see any road or basic track out.       ... stay at Roses Studios in the main town of Pigadia where the clinic is situated. But they are great hosts and as soon as I’ve dropped my stuff off we go out for supper.       Well, that was interesting. Sort of like a roller coaster. The plane is small and has to battle the heat coming up from the desert when landing, so it is kind of like a 5 minute roller coaster! I am nowat the hotel, and looking out at the ancient volcano crater that makes the harbour here the most beautiful on earth, according to Conde Nast. It is pretty damn fine, I must say.
