... out in the habitat. Probably the two coolest things - 1) an alligator sunning himself on the banks of water, who suddenly opened his jaws as we were watching; and, 2) a Great Egret who was walking around in the water, then suddenly flew up and landed on the railing 4 ft from us. We saw some other amazing and colourful birds, and one turtle. It was a good day. :o)

Temps in the mid-high 70's today, but wow, was it windy. We made brunch, then I headed to the Farmers Market to see if I could pick up one of those neat coloured cauliflower. I was there early enough this week to pick one up (an orange one). Am excited to try it.

Then Gil, Roger & I went to the Flea Market at Port Isabel. Roger dickered for Girl Scout cookies, and Gil bought ...

... Cost per person was $25 for 1.5 hrs. There were the three of us, Scarlet, and two other people who were Scarlet's friends. It was fantastic - when Scarlet and Rozie spotted dolphins, Scarlet called out to them and them came in close, sometimes right beside the boat. Rozie would bark at them and run back and forth on the boat. Adorable little guy. He would hang right off the side of the boat - Scarlet said he jumps in sometimes. ...

... this time of year (around 60 degrees). SPI is mostly retired people, so the beach is full of old people like us! lol

On our way back along the main drag, we happened to see that the liquor store (Ben's Liquor - there must be at least half a dozen of these stores on the island) was having a moving sale. Everything was 25% off - Roger got a 1.75 litre (66 oz) Seagram's VO for $26, and a 4-pack of Kahlua mudslides (for me) for $4.

... Zulu, which won the Grammy Award, in 1988, for Best Traditional Folk Album. Since then, and in total, the group has received fifteen Grammy Award Nominations and three Grammy Award wins, including one in 2009. Their most recent CD, "Songs From A Zulu Farm," has been nominated for a Grammy Award (to be announced in Feb, 2012) in the cateogory of Best World Music CD."
