... When it was discovered by Howard Carter on 4th November 1922.We should also mention the great King Ramses II, which is one of the strongest kings of the ancient Egyptian. He had ruled Egypt about 76 straight. There is a collection of his statues spread in many parts of Egypt like the temple of Abu Simbel in the Upper Egypt. Also according to some historical evidence which says that Ramses ...

After we got the tomb gazing over with we headed to the Alabaster factory which had some really great alabaster carvings. We were given free drinks of our choosing while we browsed and sat and relaxed and looked. I was greedy and had 2 very sugary cups of mint tea. After much hesitation over prices i managed to get this beautiful aqua ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt danii555... it very funny that one of the few Spanish phrases I know is “Una cerzeva grande por favor” (translated that is “One large beer please”). So four of the Colombians and two Chinese girls we hung out with were all going back to Cairo.
We had a big goodbye session in the parking lot in the middle of Hurghada then we were off in separate directions. Those of us on the two-week tour spent the night in Hurghada while the rest headed back to Cairo as I said.
... but kept in much nicer condition than the ones in Cairo. A few people were troubled by this, but I thought it was much better that way. One option in the Valley is to go inside King Tut's tomb. They offered a student discount for 50 pounds which I decided to do. If there was no discount, the fee was way too high for me since it was a small tomb. Once inside you go down a small corridor to see two rooms and a few paintings on the wall depicting some ...

Across the street was a very nice KFC and when I had to use the bathroom the guy sent me there. The bathroom of a Cairo KFC is much nicer, or at least in that case was much nicer, than the fast food bathrooms of the United States. We were definitely in a more upper crust/tourist part of town in Cairo than we had been in Amman.

... table comprised a pair of Italian newlyweds (with that goofy newlywed look on their faces), a thirty-something German couple, and us. Conversations were animated and lively. We particularly bonded with the German couple, as he and I shared the same demented sense of hunour--we were two peas in a pod, and had just the best time laughing and trying to outdo the other in absurdity of thought and action. The women were patient and tolerant of us, and it was just so much fun for me ...
Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt liliens... arrived at the different sites we could join the English group. Our first stop was the Valley of the Kings. We bought our tickets and walked up the valley to the top past all of the tombs until our guide found a good spot to stop and explain all about the area. We left him and chose 3 different tombs to visit. The first one was no.15, the Tomb of Seti which was unusual the pharaoh had died during its construction and so it was half finished. The second one ...

Hence it is a very obvious symbol for death. The rocks could quite easily be dug in, allowing for canals into the underworld. Also the desert is a perfect storing place for corpses. Over 60 tombs have been opened so far but estimates have been made that there are probably between 100 -150 in total.
We assembled in the foyer, bleary eyed. It transpired ...
... and it is now too reconstructed to feel authentic. I listened to the guide Mohammed and he tried to give us some different information so it wouldn't be too repetitive for me but once he had finished I was quite happy to head back to the taxi with him. It was actually nice walking back with Mohammed I got to ask him a few questions and I asked about Sennenmut's tomb which I have always wanted to go to. We got back to the meeting point and since everyone was still at ...

He demonstrated this by sticking his finger in cracks in the rock and applying different colors on Katie’s arm for everyone to see. Every time he wanted Katie’s attention to apply a ...
