... Pond. It is a little warmer and less windy than last night’s trip up the mountain. On the first day in Acadia we drove around the west side of Mount Desert Island, right down to Bass Harbor. Here we stopped to check out the little seaside village and try the amazing crab dip from Thurston's Lobster Pound, recommended by a customer in a nearby art gallery. After this we drove around more of the island and stopped off for a swim at Echo Lake's small sandy beach.
