Well today was a free time day - so we opted to start early to keep out of the sun. Breakfast is a little strange in Montenegro, they had pink pudding and weird meats for breakie...but I guess we are in Eastern Europe so they do things a little different.

First travel day of the tour and we both got up early - Gary went for a run with one of the guys from our group - Will (from Brisbane)... Then they met me down at the beach at 7.50am for a few push ups and sit-ups ;-). We then walked back to the hotel for breakfast and a quick shower pack our bags and on the bus! Today we were headed for Kotor in Montenegro...but first we had to cross the border into Bosnia to get there. So we spent about 15mins in Bosnia stopped for a toilet break ...
... also meant that just as we think we have seen the most stunning sight, our trip evolves to an even greater one. In this case, the Montenegro bays and the blasť nature of the locals moved to the top of the list. The environment was glorious, as was watching grandpa’s fish off the end of rickety jetty’s with their grandkids.
For the third time we made our way along the same bay road huddled up against people’s houses and dodging the bumps and pot ...
... and water. Most of them were older and from villages, so
didn’t speak English, but they were so kind and we had a lot of fun! There was one lady, Lara, and her 6 year old
son traveling in that compartment as well.
Lara could speak English so we chatted a lot after her son fell asleep.
I made it back to Belgrade after an incredible weekend at
7:45 am, took a speedy shower, and made it to class at 9 am! Cutting it close, but totally worth it!
... of traffic.
With the passage of Albania are three things I noticed:
1 it take a lot of a Mercedes. A Mercedes must be a bigger status symbol probably
2 everywhere there is rubbish around. Even though the country is one of the poorest in Europe, is not easy you have to throw the garbage anywhere and leave.
3 Half of the houses are still under construction. Many are still under construction and not occupied.
