          ... watched them crawl into a trash can to grab a plastic tin of yogurt and lick the tin clean. They then grabbed a bottle of water and shook it dry of any remaining moisture. It was one of the most heart breaking things we have seen. So we went inside and got them each a package of crackers and each a bottle of water. These kids literally jumped up and down with joy.           . . . . well actually we never did get a ferry across the Mersey. We used the train instead to reach The Wirral and the town of New Brighton having travelled from Derby via Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

One floor of the Maritime Museum is devoted to the subject of International Slavery and covers the period from the 1600s to today and the different types of slavery during that time.

You’d think that in such a confined space that wouldn’t matter, but as every lock has this ‘cill’ where the lock gates are, which can severely damage the boat, as well as if you get the boat end stuck under it, it can sink the boat, it does matter.
