Day 54 (June 9) -- Said goodbye to my cousin this morning and drove through part of Pontiac, Troy, Birmingham, Beverly Hills (the village of, that is, in Michigan, not far from Pontiac), and then Grass Lake. Didn't see or do anything very exciting except two turtles at the side of the road-- very still but not sure if they were dead or just stopped in their tracks when they heard the traffic -- not a word of exaggeration ...
