... t expect on a main road. One crossing we were convinced was too deep and risky - especially seeing as I had never really been off roading before - and we turned back. Heading back towards town we came upon a local on a small bike, something the size of a postman’s bike. We asked them if we were going the right way and he say yes, and that he would take us. So we started to follow this guy, who also had another person on the back, and they pretty much drove straight through the ...

Katelyn and Lauren here! We started today off even earlier and even brighter at 5:30 AM. We went to the Kitchen for Devotionals led by Annie about 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and how important it is to show love to those who we are serving and what that love is.Then we were served breakfast that consisted of eggs and ham jamon (like an egg and ham scrambler) and plantains (like a banana) and minty tea. Right after breakfast we jumped in to the grind of painting. ...

Then, after an hour and half wait in Liberia we got a bus to Tamarindo, finally arriving in Tamarindo at about 6. Pretty tiring to be honest. Then we did something that has become something of a novelty on this trip - socialise intentionally with other people. We met ...

    Day 442: Thursday 4th April 2013

In the morning, we caught the 9am boat back to Bluefields. This one was much more crowded than the one we had taken out, but it was the first boat back after Easter weekend. There were so many people on the boat that there was no seats left at all and we had to make do with a tiny bit of ...
