... for what felt like an eternity but was probably much shorter, our wonderful beach neighbors helped him back.

After the beach we took a scenic drive through the Gulf Shores National Seashore while the kids sacked out in the car. Then dinner and a great fireworks show on the bay! Great day in Florida and we're excited to get to Nora Carolina to see the Murphys tomorrow!

Easy travel day today--we headed out after another delicious breakfast from our B&B hostess to drive down the barrier islands to Mississippi. Spent the day in Pensacola today to visit the Fort Pickens unit of the National Seashore. This is the largest of three forts that guarded the entry into Pensacola Bay. This is directly across the narrow entry of the bay from Fort Barrancas, where we went yesterday.
