... in its original condition and all! We had some time to explore and take in the church.

Next we headed to lunch, It was an organised lunch by the tour, but it was quite nice..Untill I went straight into a giant hot chilli which I thought was a green bean and almost suffocated from the hotness!

... to see! I started with the royal kitchens. I thought that sounds mundane, lets get over with it. I think the highlight of that part was understanding how complex the kitchen organization for the palace was. It was organized like any modern business organization would be. And, it had to be, with more than 1000 people in its staff, and more than 5000 people to feed at each meal. Also, interesting was the china collection. Ok, I would have never admitted to that ...

... trip so far. What should have been a cab ride turned into a 2 hour ride. Fortunately, it was a prearranged amount. I was glad that I had prepped the kids about Istanbul. We were leaving one of the newest most modern cities in the world to go to one of the oldest cities in the world. The juxtaposition could not have been greater.

... has some truly astonishing stuff, even though it is a bit dates and dusty.
