    ... in a couple of serious walks to get some training for his trek in October. There is a great walking track along the coast here and he also managed the bush track up Mt Coolum. Information said it was a two hour return trip but David managed to do it in one hour. So just to prove it wasn't a fluke he did it again the next day. Now he wonders why his calves are a little sore.

    Left Hervey Bay this morning around 11.00 in threatening weather. Ray assured us that it probably wouldn't rain! Wrong!!! It didn't stop raining all day! Not cold, but definitely wet! We wandered back through the Koala enclosure where we were able to pat the koalas, and then through the aviary before finding wombats and were able to pat a wombat too.     ... time. If we stopped paddling the boat would simply drift back and before we knew it we would be 100m downstream again. Not on,y was it hard graft when all three of us paddled the girls paddled quite rarely leaving all the work of paddling and steering to me.     ... feet long at least! He was massive. He swam around and chased some zoo keepers around. I thought he was going to eat them! He even jumped out of the water up to one of the zoo keepers on a platform to get some food.
