Kauai Adventures

Hiking, canoeing, snorkeling, watching the sunset with a bottle of wine and fresh sushi. What more could you ask for on an island vacation? We were staying right across from the Poipu State park, so we took a quick walk on our first full day in Hawaii. Right away, we saw three adorable monk seals chilling on the beach. We even spotted 3 giant green sea turtles, which bode well for spotting great wildlife on our trip! We head in to town to rent cheap snorkel gear from Snorkel Bob's. and picked...

Sunday in Kaua'i

We started Sunday with breakfast at Embassy. Then we went to church at the Christian Science Society in Lihue, Kaua'i. Alvin and Ethel went with us. Afterward we went to Walmart for more stuff, then to lunch at the Oki Diner. This place is so "local." Doug and Julie had a "Saimin bowl." It had noodles, kind of like Ramen, with egg, chopped onion tops, and meat (chicken) in a broth. It was very good and we ate with chopsticks. This afternoon we went swimming in the big pool at the Embassy and ...

Historical Traveler Reviews of Embassy Vacation Resort - Poipu Point

Did an RCI Timeshare Exchange

from bhrungo
We stayed at the Embassy from Dec.14th-21st. We called 2 weeks before arrival to request an ocean-view room and when we arrived we DID receive keys to an ocean-view 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit in Building #8.

My first impression of the unit itself was nice, the living room furniture was a bit worn, but not bad..we heard that it is all in the process of being replaced anyway. The unit has a full-kitchen, a washer and dryer, a nice lanai with a table and chairs, and one long lounge chair. Granite couters in the kitchen, tile floors in the kitchen and baths. Jacuzzi in the master bathroom. The swimming pool very large, I think the deepest part of the pool is about 4 feet, but not bad for cooling off. My favorite part of this resort is the absolutely beautiful view of the ocean crashing on the rocky shoreline...amazing!

I could have stood on the cliff all day long. It was great just to be able to walk out our slider door, and in about 10 seconds I was watching the sea-turtles and the dolphins swimming in front of the resort. I would definitely stay here again in a heart-beat! The only thing negative I can say about tis resort is that if you are on teh ground floor like we were, you hear EVERY SINGLE footstep of the people upstairs...If I could do one thing differnet next time I stay here, I would request a corner unit..the lanai's wrap around two sides of the buliding and are HUGE!!! I would give this resort a 9 out of 10...can't wait to go back!!!

Don't think we'll be back

We exchanged our timeshare week at Embassy Maui for a week here. We found the poor floor soundproofing (3 story complex) to be a major problem. The problem was esacerbated by the placement of guests with small children on the upper floors. The staff explained that they had no control over this because they had to accommodate "oceanview" interval owners. The furniture was well worn and the carpets were quite spotted. A 3 to 4 minute wait for the hot water to travel from the water heater was a complete of waste of water as well as an annoyance.

There is no central A/C. Bedroom A/C units were too loud to run at night. The pool was not heated in spite of a $60 energy surcharge! The time share units are not oceanview or oceanfront, and last but not least, the roosters on the property began crowing as early as 5:15 am.

Not again for a while!

The Stouts

Beautiful Place!!

This was a beautiful resort. The grounds were immaculately kept and offered the guests an aesthetically pleasing view when walking the property. The rooms were clean and beautifully appointed. Bathrooms were very, very large with separate tub and shower. Most views from the rooms were of the beautiful shipwreck beach and it was only a short walk away from the Hyatt, where you can find an abundance of restaurants, shops, and a great Luau on Thursday's and Sunday's. The entire staff was very accommodating and helpful. The concierge was great in helping to arrange and book all island activities and excursions. Very laid back atmosphere. Wonderful Stay!

We were there the last week in May 03. The grounds are beautiful & well maintained; Room was clean and nicely appointed; staff was friendly. Lots of things to do at the resort. Nice touch is the adults only spa. We'd recomend this resort for any age group and with or without kids.

Loved the Resort

Both my husband and I spent a week with you last June and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. We were invited by Texan friends who happen to have a time share. It was our first time to the islands of Hawaii and will always remember this place, the friendly service we received and the accommodation was superb.

AWESOME! I could hardly think it was winter when we went the week after Christmas. One fun part was the free drinks/appetizers that the hotel offered a few times a week from 4-6. The hardest part was flying back home to the ordinary live.

Wonderful memories, loved Embassy Suites @ Poipu Point

This is a most incredible resort. Stayed there for 10 days and fell in love with it. Am returning again this year and hope to many times in the future. Its beautiful setting and wonderful location makes it hard to beat. It's on the southern aspect of Kauai where it rains little. Lots of shopping and fine beaches surround you.. Timeshare sellers are there in abundance. Take charge and they will leave you alone. It books up quickly so plan to make your reservations nearly a year in advance. Ocean Front rooms are expensive but breathtakingly beautiful. Great facilities - cooking, washing, eating, etc. Can you tell we love it!

THis place rules!!!

This place is awesome!! Geez, in response to the other reviewer, you must be one of those people who is never happy... Everything about this place was wonderful. The location was superb. Kauai is a couples island anyway...(why would you want your teenager to meet anyone?) The rooms are nice, very well furnished, great staff, great locale, very clean, nice pool, right next to the Hyatt for bars/great food!! HIGHLY recommended!

OK for some...

We just returned from a week at the Embassy Resorts. Nice property, well cared for. Rooms are modestly furnished but large. Friendly staff but front desk and lobby seems constantly filled with sales reps for time shares. We traveled with an eight month old infant. Our needs for a crib and high chair were accomodated well. The bedrooms have individual window air conditioning which makes it annoying to sleep with all the noise from the unit. The resort is very quiet at night, making it easy to sleep if the temps are balmy. Nice pool area. If you have teenagers they may be disappointed to find there aren't many others around. The typical guests are middle class, middle aged couples who tote around styrofoam ice chests with beer.
