The past several days have been pretty relaxed for us, so not enough to write about each day to warrant a new blog every day.
Here's a little bit about what we've been doing...
Monday - We started planning out our meals and went on a big food shop...we are a little limited as I don't have some of the kitchen utensils or machines I'd like to make certain things..but it all costs money!! We now have no chocolate ...
... with a few parts that you have to be on the highway but mainly on the trail. We think it would make a pretty nice bike ride....if only we had bikes.
I cooked dinner whilst Darren drew then we did Laundry here for the first time...we are on the 2nd floor and the Laundry is 2 floors down so not too far. We also made a quick trip to get some playing cards as we still had no WIFI...the evening was spent betting M&M's on games of Rummy. Kind of nice not to have technology ...
Last night we ended up watching several episodes of Criminal Minds on the laptop as Chayce let us use her Netflix...this means we don't need to buy a TV! It was a pretty late night so we slept in more than we have in a long long time.
We skyped with Darren's family then headed to the Grocery store as we keep realising little things we need. I really wanted to take Darren to Minturn where Sarah and Josh lived for a while as it's such a cool little place and ...
It was so lucky to reach the Rockies when the Aspen trees were wearing their golden colour. It does not happen for long so I enjoy my week there with Pickles and for few days with Theo before he flew back to London.
My french friends would say that the Rockies don't have the majesty of the french Alps but I love their softness and the fact that you can reach the summit within few hours but still can climb verticals ...
... and spills galore as the skiers tackled the very fast and demanding tight turning course.
What a weekend! The end of our time watching the Workd Cup skiers and we were certainly not disappointed. To travel half way around the world was worth it. An experience we will never forget and certainly aim to do again.
