... suffocating inside they got the water off, the rain slowed after about 30 min but the grounds were flooded, the grounds team drove out buggies and loads and loads of dry sand to get the pitch ready but after waiting till 10:30 pm we decided to head home as it was getting too late. We found out later that the game was called Yankees 2 Texas rangers 1 called due to rain. ... to the Empire State building and half way down 34th Street we met the Annual Dykes parade. Colourful, noisy and in your face. The NYPD were there in huge numbers clearing barriers as the march progressed- more of this tomorrow!

Empire State Building was timed well and we trotted through huge queue ing area v quickly and up to the top. Great views.

We managed to stay awake long enough to sleep really well.

... and walked back into Manhattan so the views were incredible and it was a beautiful day which made it even better! Then I went back across to Williamsburg, Brooklyn and had a wander through the shops around there, it’s an interesting neighbourhood! I really tried to win tickets to Aladdin in the Broadway Ticket Lottery Friday (and Saturday) nights but failed miserably. When they only draw out 20 tickets and there are over 100 people ...

We headed to Grand Central Station- well it's actually called Grand Central Terminal, but you know what I mean. I had been hoping to go there all week as I had heard it was an impressive building and obviously it is a landmark.

... and included the High Line, Broadway, a boat cruise where we saw the Statue of Liberty and a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge, dinner in Little Italy and we finished up at the top of the Rockefeller Centre where we got an incredible view of the Empire State building and the rest of the city (we were lucky enough to have a beautiful clear night).
