... otherwise it was a 5 month break living with her parents before it was back to Santorini for next year’s season.

We decided we really wanted to visit Crete. We had literally just missed the last daily fast catamaran service across, so we opted for an extra 3 nights on Santorini, and then the weekly "slow" ferry across to Crete. This meant we had 10 nights to chill! There is really not a huge amount to do in Santorini, so some forced R&R was fine by us! ...

... first tender boat left. As we were getting on the tender, an elderly man had fallen over and cut his head quite badly. At first I thought he'd knocked himself out but they managed to get him up and off the boat fairly quickly.

... work started in 1967 and theythey only had enough money to find 10% of the town. Many of the artifacts are well preserved including frescoes and three storey buildings. The archeology site has been enclosed and a roof over the excavated area was built to continue the preservation of the town. We found this part of the tour extremely fascinating and loved walking around the boardwalk which looks over the town.
