    ... paddling was risky. The most distant point on our travels today was Coolangatta beach. By the time we arrived, it was quite busy. Whole families were out, many of them probably on holiday. Kori took a well deserved nap and Ben went for a swim.     ... after all!). There are just a couple that actually live at the sanctuary (being flightless, after accidents with fishing equipment), and the rest just drop in for a meal. The eels can actually crawl up on land, and 'walk' to other streams and rivers that way. They are, apparently, quite edible - although we just took their word for it.

    The next day we set off in search of some free wifi so we could look up the best deals for the theme parks. We finally decided to get unlimited entry tickets to three parks: sea world, movie world, and wet n wild. That night we went to the surf club and they had specials on food and beer so we treated ourselves for the night.

    ... was given the chance to hold an eagle, play with a male & female dingo inside the enclosure, feed a possum then finally, handle an young owl which loved being scratched behind it head!


    My experience at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary was a great one, and I highly encourage anyone in the area to give it a go!

    Gotta love Coolangatta airport, arrived early for our flight, as you do when travelling overseas! But alas the international departures gate is closed. People hanging around everywhere but can't get in. Finally less than 2 hours before the flight they open up, all unhappy that we seem to be ruining their day, do they forget they are getting paid for this!!! We need to get in there ...
