The Monument is a huge area, but when we arrived at the other end of the park, the only thing to see were more gorges and valleys, so we kept going. Sad to have missed it, but we plan on coming back out here at some point to see the Rockies.

The temperatures dropped to mid 50's, lightning crackled overhead, and I began to feel unsafe and concerned about hydroplaning. Especially climbing to 9,400 ft to cross Rabbit Ears Pass & over 10,000 ft over Cameron Pass.

... were all designer modern (and therefore totally impractical), with huge metal doors and no locks, or soap, or dryers.
But we weren’t paying for the restrooms: the hot springs were the main draw, and after a meal cooked on the state-of-the-art gas barbeque (no fire pits here!) we dived straight in. Actually, tiptoed in would be more accurate. The hot springs were - no surprises ...

After skiing I once again sat in the hot tub for a bit before taking the Orange Line bus to Rex’s. I’d never been to Rex’s before so I tried a few things. I got the Pork Green Chili which came with a small cheese quesadilla. Then I got the cheddar mac with bacon and tomato and finally the Brownie Sundae for dessert. I enjoyed everything I ordered there and would return again.
... indoor ring. This year I rode Jake. Since trainer Terry is familiar with my riding, they let me pretty much ride by myself and do whatever I wanted with him. We did some turns on the haunches and practiced some leg yielding. He was a fun horse- responsive and had a comfortable canter. I think I rode for about 1.5 hours.
After I was done riding I took a pair of track skis out for about 30-45 min just around the ranch property to get even more exercise.
