... reading areas. If you can judge a town by its library then Steamboast Springs, Colorado is a first rate place to live (at least in the summer unless you ski). We even talked about renting here in the furure. After visiting the library we walked the main drag in town. Checked out several stores including F.M. Light and Sons. This is a true Western store specializing in fancy boots. Rows and rows of boots. If I could bend, I might buy a pair! We did purchase 2 shirts for me ...
Once entering CO the landscape changed. Tall mountains, creeks, snow! Lots of snow in the higher elevations. I saw antelope and elk from the bike. It was a very pleasant ride.
Tonight I will relax with dinner and may take the free city bus (hello Rapid City?) to another destination.
... gorgeous gardens and plenty of little waterfalls and the price has not changed. It is still only $10 a person. What a great value.
We soaked for a while. Ate a picnic lunch under the trees with the chipmunks. Soaked again. Lounged in the sun and allowed the lithium hot spring water do it's trick. We were all so relaxed that the short walk up the hill back to the car felt like climbing a fourteener.

... eyes hurt. On our approach to Austin I realized that we did not complete the approach, but went back up and toward town...I wondered what that was about. After flying south of town, we started the approach again, and then the pilot told us that first time the landing gear would not come down!!! Ha!! - glad he told us after the fact! Colton picked me up, and we had Chipotle on the way home. Glad to be back in Austin, but missing the skiing already!
Wednesday 8th Dec was my last day with rental skis. It was a beautiful sunny day with some very high cloud. I have some much better photos of the mountain and runs I have been skiing. Perspective wise the photos are better but still don't show the real steepness, I'm trying...lol. Note to Kelly B, I can't get over to Chutes 1-3 for those photos yet, they open tomorrow, so I'll work on it.
