... never to go on that kind of tour, no matter how decrepit we become. We have enough independence in us to resist such a tour. It sounded ghastly. Also bought some more Loratadine hay fever tablets. We've discovered they sell 100 hay fever tabs here for $15 Aus. I pay four times that in Melbourne, so who is making all the profit? We met some people at the hotel also headed for the Richard Rohr cruise. They were catching a taxi, but we decided to train it, which we ...

... day out cruising and cycling down and back up the Rhine. When I got there I was greeted by a surprisingly large number of people so proper preparation like bookings should be made for an entire school group taking this tour. Once we all hopped on the boat and found our seats we left the dock and headed south for Sinzig past Bonn. On the way we hopped off and cycled for a short 10 or so kilometres before meeting up with the boat again. It was the ...

... scenery. Oberwesel itself was a cute little village surrounded by old rock walls. We enjoyed coffee, hot chocolates and cakes for about 10 Euro in total.

Off to Heidelberg for lunch and free time. We all really enjoyed this town with its beautiful baroque old town by the river and the huge Schloss castle overlooking the town. We quickly walked up the hill to see the half-ruined castle before enjoying some schnitzel and beer ...
