      Over 400km later, we arrived at our next overnight stop in La Ciotat. Was a newly built apartment over looking the port. We unpacked, jumped back in the car and grabbed some supplies from the Supermarket. Some clothes washing was on the agenda as well as something for dinner. We thought we would stay 'home' tonight so ...

      ... We were able to see some of the airplane containers up close and see the "cage" where undeliverable stay until they are claimed or destroyed. The Fedex employees seemed excited to have us there and enjoyed showing us around. After we left, we got back on another train that took us back to Lyon. At that point it was late and we only had enough time to get dinner before we exhausted all of our energy and called it a night.

      We got up early this day to have a quick breakfast at our hotel and then catch a train to Marseille. We then took a tour bus to visit the Port de Fos or the Port of Marseille where we got a good presentation on the operations and future intentions of the port despite it being a little difficult with the substitute tour guide. Still being able to translate we got a good presentation with a large floor/table map of the port ...

      ... far to walk (never mind that a month later we would walk 30 kilometres in Paris in one day, without complaint). There was also a ferry service from our ship to the Toulon port for a twenty euros - which, again for some unknown reason, we decided was too expensive. We decided, instead, to make the most of this pretty little town and left the ship at about 9 am.

      Approximately 150 minutes later we were back on board the ship.
