    ... in south of France, it's 30 degrees. We caught a shuttle to the township.
    The buildings are very French! Its gorgeous. We have found a nice air conditioned shopping centre and had a fun time.
    Katie had an early morning swim and had the pool to herself!
    so far so good.

    Arriving to Marseilles

    ... welcome sight, I got in and cooled off. Dinner was just a simple buffet they had set up, then early to bed after a few wines and some Cointreau. Did not see anything of Marseilles itself except very dry wasteland and pretty weeds.

    ... and went to a wonderful restaurant called Fleurs & Thyme, so quaint - no english here, only French. The meals was fantastic, we ate fare to much, house specialties - and we had NO WINE!! - water in a wine glass instead mmm a new experience. The photos look a bit weird.     ... far to walk (never mind that a month later we would walk 30 kilometres in Paris in one day, without complaint). There was also a ferry service from our ship to the Toulon port for a twenty euros - which, again for some unknown reason, we decided was too expensive. We decided, instead, to make the most of this pretty little town and left the ship at about 9 am.

    Approximately 150 minutes later we were back on board the ship.

    ... perched upon top of the Bluff, watching over the city below. Dropped off at the lower base of the church we climbed steps to the look-out area and then went into the Basilica, lit a candle, said a prayer and enjoyed the peacefulness of the moment . La Voile Marseillaise was our chosen patio cafe , the shade and breeze made our poulet (chicken) and frites even more enjoyable. Grabbed a taxi back to the ship for some down time....
