... scrabbled across encountering a wild eyed and sweaty German. "The cave.....I've looked for 10 years!". In horror I imagined this frantic figure scurrying the hillside for a decade with his flimsy map and as he bolted ahead of us I feared he might slip in his haste and we'd hear a shriek and look down on his tiny form far below. Before we reached the cave slope we met him again, still frantic but now jubilant "take a photo, take a photo" he shrieked. Then he photographed ...

... now 9) last year when they spent three months living in Napa (through their wonderful cousin Bea, who used to be Sam and Henry’s pre-school Spanish teacher). We also got to meet Carlos when he came to visit. It was a great reunion to arrive at a beachside restaurant and find them waiting for us. Beautiful afternoon, our first real paella and the best Rioja yet (thanks to Carlos’ ordering skills.) The girls were great friends ...

... a long, arduous day on the boat, we rewarded ourselves with giant ice cream sundaes before heading home. A great way to spend my last day on the island. Despite everyone feeling pretty shattered, they were all good enough to meet up later for my farewell dinner and drinks. We ate at Zanzibar, drank in LAB and Prohibition, and finished the evening with a dance to some 90s tunes in Bar Cuba. As the flight home tomorrow was pretty early, we said ...
