... at our hotel in Crestview and after a short rest we went to Cracker barrel for supper. We met up with another Diamond Tour bus going to New Orleans. Some of us ladies relaxed out on the porch waiting to be taken back to the Hotel for a good night's rest. And so here I am ready for another day of adventure. Spent the night in Crystal River

Got up and had a nice walk around then went to the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. We saw 2 Whooping Cranes, there are only 300 left ...
... lot. It had a nice view of the beach and the price was right. The weather was in the 20`s and sunny. Watched some precociously athletic young girls in a gymnastics competition at the conference centre next door. They were spectacular. I can see why the U.S. does so well in the Olympics.
We drove the scenic coastal road along the barrier islands. The houses are all on stilts. We stopped at Mustang Island ...
... returning to the van, Dan notices a leak underneath. We're both down on the ground checking it out when a young man comes along and asks if we're having a problem. He turns out to be a handyman extraordinaire, plumber, electrician, etc. We mention our broken plumbing and he says, "Follow me." One hour later he has fixed the tap and the leak and restored our faith in the goodness of human nature.
... We expected to find lovely campsites on or near the beaches like Oregon & California & imagined sitting in the sun a lot more than we did!! Surprise, surprise it rains in the Sunshine State!! We were disappointed to find very few State Parks with camping & there was no chance of getting in because they book up 11 months ahead! Any Parks we did visit had a $6 day use fee which we found annoying when we only wanted to stop for lunch or quick walk & ...
