... Old Mate's sudden change of mind. Had this happened at the start of this journey (see first couple of stories for this blog) I probably would have started crying at the thought of being solo and yet another "let down", but having recently regained some of my confidence, I feel like I have options and can work something out for myself. Ironically, it is because of Old Mate I really started healing because it has only since I have been on the Greek Islands have ...

... massive serving sizes, Italian restaurants, euros, the yoghurt tastes HEAPS better (and the Turkish got offended when we called it Greek yoghurt), obviously Greek people and language, and yeah. The Vespas brought us to a pension where the lady's sister Efe made me a coffee - pretty much straight out of Acropolis now, tight black clothes, ridiculous frizzy hair and accent. Her name really was efe. The coffee ...

Today we have booked a trip with Laumzis Sun Cruises for a trip to Nisyros, a volcanic Island. This is a big tour group, so it actually took longer for the bus to pick everyone up from their hotels than it did to make the cruise to the island. We were amazed at how big Kos actually was. We have been staying in a hotel not far from where the ferry that bought us docked. There is a vibrant downtown area on the pier & we thought that was all there was ...

... see a pod of dolphins. We find a secluded bay, and the sailors climb a cliff where they have a BBQ set up. We spend most of the time jumping from the ship into the warm, clear water of the sea. Soon lunch is served & it is delicious. Lots & Lots of food! We then go to two other islands for more swimming & shopping. The day can only be described as epic. We had beautiful weather, the people we met on board were fun, and it was truly an experience we will remember ...

... bothered at all. Normally the ferry ride across was only a 20 minute trip on the catamaran, but with the wind the captain took it niiiiice and slow and aimed miles north of Bordum to try and save us the worst of the cross winds. It was still pretty choppy though and we were pretty glad when we rolled into Bodrum harbour over an hour later.

GREECE - tick! The people, the food and the absolute gorgeous sights ... We loved Greece, will for sure be back.
