... in Catolica, only about 5km from our hotel but he lived in Coriano. This town was included in our ride home from San Marino. It is obvious as you ride through Coriano that Simoncelli was well loved. Flags fly from the lamp posts and there are several memorials in the town to him. The race track at Misano - just up the road has also been renamed after him. A fitting memorial for a very memorable rider and character.

On Friday, we traveled by train and walked in the rain.

Even precipitation is lovely in Italy.

At the train station, I discovered a vending machine that provided espresso in a tiny plastic cup. It was perfect. Espresso this good shouldn't come from vending machines. Frankly, espresso of any kind shouldn't come from vending machines. Heaven, I'm sure, will be lined ...

... Ancient Corinth which was also a score, because it turned out that we were there on the free museum day! Yippee!! We also stayed in a lovely Stellplatz where we were offered Greek coffee and an English-speaking grandson to act as translator.

From Corinth, we had hoped to get down to Sparta so that we could base ourselves there to see Mystros, etc, but it snowed again! And that meant that the road down to Sparta was closed... again! Hmmm, a quick change of ...
