After receiving a lovely green stamp in our passports we collected our bags, found our Tauck driver and were delivered to the Old Ground Hotel in the heart of Ennis. We are all going well but it is interesting to hear each other perceptions about each other, it would be fair to say that Mayberry we are not as relaxed as we think. It's all about compromise and giving space if possible. ... of San Diego, which is where the original town stood, and it has authentic buildings and shops with people wearing the correct dress for the time period. The shops included places to buy rocks (opals, amethysts etc.), jewelry shops, saloons, restaurants, and of course candy shops. It was great to see all of the history that goes with the area! We returned home at around 9.30pm, so it was a long day for the younger people among us. ...

... Union station was amazing, it's an Art Deco place with wonderful architecture and huge leather armchairs - beautiful. We were allocated seats upstairs on the train, we only had 'coach' but I've never seen anything like it - so much leg room & you pull a lever & it's a bed almost, well it does go all the way to Seattle, no idea how long that takes - our trip is 8 hours!
