After dropping the bikes off and having a quick feed, we went and saw Luc Vanlaere . He is a famous musician who plays all of his own compositions on a variety of harps (orchestral, classical, meditation one, one with 240 strings he had crafted… and some others!). All hand made, no electronics or synthetic sounds. What a character! It was free entry, with donations welcomed. ...

... a good 15min walk from the historic centre of town, our accommodation more than made up for it. A beautiful large bedroom with our own bathroom and more tea bags that I could imagine welcomed us. We dumped our bags and headed out straight away. The minute we started walking towards the old city centre we new this was a special place. The medieval architecture is all still intact and there are no signs of modern day buildings spoiling the scenery. ...

... as our clothes and our map dissolving into pulp we happened upon a lovely old lady on a bike. Our last entry left us in Canterbury on the South East part of the English coast. While this post is a wee bit late and is being completed in the Belgium sunshine on the outskirts of Bruges. In between there has been some of the greatest adventures of our trip as yet.

From Canterbury we continued our tour of the coastline, including the town of Sandwich. Yes, this is where our now food staple was reportedly 'invented' as a Baron slapped meat between two pieces ...

Bye Bye Brugge... Hello London!

... br> It was really nice to catch up with Jamie, as we did become fast friends in Paris and he came along to Amsterdam as well. It's funny because to me that seemed like it was ages ago, but it was just exactly one month since we had first met. Jamie made me a really nice home cooked meal (I have been spoiled rotten with lovely home cooked meals since I left the ship) and we caught up over a bottle of wine.

So happy and grateful for all the friends I have in my life old and new x
