Happy 4th of July!

We had a great time at Pensacola Beach! We got there at 9:45am and stayed until 3pm and even with a easy up shade, rash guard wearing and 3+ sunscreen applications we all got sunburn! ... One other interesting tidbit from the Fort Morgan museum: there was a display of menus from holidays at the fort, when they tried to built the soldiers' morale. On the July 4 menu for 1912, the beverages on offer were: lemonade, iced tea, and Budweiser. Who knew?

Spent the day in Pensacola today to visit the Fort Pickens unit of the National Seashore. This is the largest of three forts that guarded the entry into Pensacola Bay.
