We saw some beautiful places today. Mother nature can be mighty impressive.
The weather today has been a total 360 of the weather yesterday. Sunny and about 24 degrees. We started off the morning by walking to the White House and Lafayette Square. We are extremely impressed by how green Washington is. There were plants, flowers and bushes along almost every street/boulevard we walked along this morning and afternoon. I was disappointed that we could not go in to the Treasury Building to see the Liberty Bell ( you have to be a US citizen and have a pass). ...
Set off for a leisurely trip on Amtrak from Penn station to Washington . NYC was hot but DC ,( get the jargon ? ) much hotter about 38 deg. & very humid We met our landlady after a bit of a wait a very nice apartment awaited us centrally placed and an easy walk to all the attractions . We walked down to the National Mall for a look at the capitol building , Washington memorial

... A Capital, worthy of this wonderful country!
It was a lovely day and we got a tad sunburnt from sitting up top! Would recommend this tour as a good way to get round
