... to Aspen. We flew from Vegas to Denver and then caught the Colorado Mountain express to Aspen. We left at 5am in the morning and arrived in Aspen at 6:30pm after we had to change buses because ours was having engine trouble. We are definitely not having much luck on the bus side of things this trip.

One surprise for us though was the playing field opposite our hotel. Mind you it was covered in snow but did appear to have Rugby goalposts! They looked like rugby posts but in Aspen? After two huge days on the hill it was good to have a quiet evening. A couple of delightful Californian Pinot Noirs in front of the fire was a lovely way to finish one of the most exciting weekends we have experienced. To think we do it all again with the men next weekend in Beaver Creek! Bring it On!!

That evening we went the the St Regis for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting. It is quite a spectacle. Carol singing, Champagne bottle opening with a Sabre (very dramatic) and of course a huge, superbly decorated and well lit tree.
