... different story.

We then headed downtown again to explore for a few more hours before continuing our journey south. We found metered parking a few blocks from the waterfront in the historic downtown district on a residential street. The homes are so lovely and well kept. Not all of them are grand and stately but they all do have lots of charm and character. Throughout the area you can find detailed cornices, wrought ...

Very stormy day in Charleston, SC today (and for the last 3 days in a row); and forecasted to be stormy right through Wed. So making today a driving day!!!

Feet and minds thoroughly exhausted, we headed back on the road to our next stop...

... my own version of 'Psycho'. Eventually we secure our rooms.  It's almost 2pm by now so we head out for a wander round the historic district and hopefully some lunch. The motel, as its name suggests, is right on the bay front and we follow the road towards the Bridge of Lions passing lots of cute little buildings, bars and restaurants thinking we'll walk as far as The Oldest House, one of the key sights.  Our jaunt down Avenida Menendez leads ...
