Jan again - We woke up this morning to find that there is a 2 hour delay for school. Apparently northern parts of the county had a bit more ice than we did. Since we were planning to pick Piper up early from school anyway, we decided not to send her at all. She wouldn't be there long enough to be counted present. I made bacon and cheese scones in my new scone pan for breakfast ...

... on seniors days at the outlet mall and our car is now pretty full as we pack up here and head off to the Gulf coast for March.
We are pretty glad we didn't hold out for a heated pool, not a soul has been in the pool, and my new Ronjons trunks have been worn but once and never been wet. I guess that's something I won't be able to say when I'm 90 even if I don't go swimming. More to come next month from the other coast.

After a restful night, we got up and went back to Jaybirds for breakfast. We came back to the room to load the car and checkout of the hotel. We parked the car across the street and walked to the fort in old town. Turns out that this fort is part of the national parks device so Don could use his park pass to get is in. There were a fair amount of people there with more coming in as the morning wore on. ...

... Augustine was crazy, with massive 15 foot breakers just outside the inlet. We also got to see Castillo San Marcos from the water side. This was followed by a trip through a drawbridge (our first), where the width was 74'. With Four Coconuts beam of 24' it left a boat width on either side. ...
