      Nothing is perfect

Spent the day with the realtor in Venice. We now know this drive of an hour down and an hour back, by heart. Saw 6 properties, 3 of which would be great EXCEPT... The little gray house in our realtor's neighborhood. Beautifully redone inside, could be bought with the furniture, has a pool, you can walk/bike to the beach BUT the price is close to $300,000 and the neighborhood is very mixed. Some properties are a little run down, while others have had some updating and it ...

... house to see. It is near the Inlets, has a pool and is 3/4 of a mile from Nokomis beach. The pictures look great. I have a lot of reservations about getting a house rather than a condo, because there is no other entity who is responsible for caring for your place while you are gone. But is hard not to get excited. There is probably some problem with it that I can't see right now. But we are going to check it out on Friday (2/6). Report to ...

The Goldbergs have bought their lot and are chosing options for their new build tomorrow. We are playing with idea of renting in one place for a month, then moving to another next winter. Who knows. I love it here, but I think it is a "visit" location, not a "live" location. But I would be happy to visit again next ...

... the hour plus drive we pulled up only to find out it was closed due to a fire. Since the Packer game was a late game we had plenty of time to head to another favorite, Cortez Kitchen, on the docks in historic Cortez Village. The outdoor seating sits just off the shore where ships dock to deliver their fresh seafood. Kaitlyn and I split the buffalo grouper sandwich which I thought was okay (admittedly not a fish person so it was a bit “fishy” for ...

... out the city in advance, and maybe take photos, back to Kamloops, of the venue and accommodation that has already been arranged. We are presently on the east (Atlantic) coast of Florida and Sarasota is ion the west (Caribbean) coast. We realize that tomorrow is Monday and by two o'clock, tomorrow afternoon, we have to be in Fort Lauderdale, already checked into our hotel and returning our rental vehicle. If we do go to Sarasota, we will have to be up ...
