It was a good night, of dancing and mingling but a rough day on Monday. We all woke up sleepy and hungover and had to check out by 10am. After the windows are in Chris gets the local fire fighters to come on down and give the camper a good and powerful wash down to see if there are any leaks. Chris pays a donation to the rural firefighters and our van gets a good wash down. As Chris says 'better to find any leaks before we add walls and furniture. I woke up so west. Surrounded by wrappers of strawberry yoghurt breakfast bars, I soon began to discover bits of muesli in my hair. I had obviously gotten a bit peckish in the night. When in Surfer's Paradise, surf - that's what I've always said. So we did. We hired a couple of boards and set out making fools of ourselves. I'm very much a rookie surfer by the way. I've dabbled a bit before, most recently in Newport on the west coast of New Zealand ...
