... a newly paved road with a crosswind. Once we reaches S 158 we were battling a headwind for the next 25 1/2 miles. With this being only the second day of our tour we decided not to push ourselves to hard and opted for a motel 7 miles short of the bridge heading over to Kitty Hawk. We made one last attempt to see the wild ponies before leaving Assateague and once again they eluded us. We found one of the corrals the park service uses with three ponies inside but none in the wild.
