... very tired-crazy child, we stopped at a bar/restaurant on the tourist path for a quick bite. We had the requisite conch fritters and when Liesl saw mojitos on the drink menu, she had flashbacks to her tour of duty on the front lines of America in Curaçao. We ordered a couple of drinks to set the tone and got two watered down, tasteless, half-hearted attempts at mojitos. I guess it was symbolic of the whole place...a long proud tradition, ...

Oh, what a good time we're having!!!! We left Homestead and our first stop was Key Largo. There we caught the morning trip on the glass bottom boat that traveled out to Molasses Reef so we got to tour the world's third largest coral reef ( we've snorkeled the other two, Belize and Great Barrier, so, we've completed the "hat trick") Baracuda actually followed us on the reef, and we got to see all kinds of brightly coloured fish ...

We eventually came upon a nice looking restaurant on Duvall Street called Fogarty's. We were told that the gracious mansion in the background was once owned by a mayor of Key West. The front garden had been converted to a restaurant, and it was more than pleasant sitting outside eating ribs.
We eventually made our way back to the hotel and although it was early, it did not take long to fall asleep.
We have a lot to do tomorrow in a very short ...

... hardly made a dent in any of the food and didn't eat tea when we met up with everyone else. We gathered for tea at this quirky fish shop that almost looked like an old falling apart shed but the decor was awesome to look at. Everyone got a feed then we headed to Malory square in preparation for the sunset. This square sits right on the water and there is a small island off shore which the sun sets behind it. They also had a bunch of street performers and craft stalls in ...

Waking up in a bed was a lovely feeling this morning. We had a complimentary breakfast at the hostel which consisted of pastry or fruit. That's all. Obviously I opted for the fruit considering they were mince or cheese pastries. We were off to key west today. The drive was so beautiful. We literally were driving over water continuously on bridges between each island. As we got closer to key west the houses went from proper beach ...
