    ... the Sun resting. So we went back to the hostel and by this time we could check in. Our room was like a little apartment with bunk beds, kitchen, living room, bathroom and a balcony sharing with about 12 people. We had a little nap and I covered my face in cold paper towels. The rest of the day we just did a food shop and had noodles for dinner and went to bed.

    ... the shopping complex where there are literally hundreds of stores and lots of nice restaurants. Watched the sand sculptors (there is a big sand sculpting competition going on) while we relaxed on the foreshore. When we got back to the room we had been joined by a nice German family, daughter, dad and grandad!!     ... see. We sat on the beach taking in the view and then walked along to the main hub of Surfer's Paradise, which is an amazing beach with huge skyscrapers behind. On the beach we saw loads of jellyfish, thankfully there are no Box Jellyfish this far South so we can go swimming.     ... a bit hairy though, so I take a tortuous detour to get off this bit of road. I make a stop at a shopping centre ay the town of Ocean Shores to reward myself after the highway. The next section of my route is going to parallel the shore on small roads, and I looking forward to it. Or so I thought. After riding around the northern part of Ocean Shores I can't seem to find the coastal road so give up and get back to the highway. The cycle lane is pretty good, ...
