Well we arrived after being very hung over and travelling for over 10 hours (2 on a boat with no air con!!). We arrive with no accommodation and have to scour the streets with 3 bags and a black garbage bag full of pottery (came with 26kg now have over 60kg). Not the best plan we ever thought up!!! Some of the most treasured memories of my life have taken place on this journey. Each one leaves me simply in awe, often accompanied with the enchanting laughter of astonishment. After 216 days, this is my last in Latin America. Tomorrow I leave this incredible land and fly to The Big Apple. Latin America, you have been phenomenal to me however, Western Civilisation is certainly being met with excitement.
... was dark by the time we arrived back at Cancún bus station and dropped in on the supermarket to pick up some essentials such as beer and ice cream to see us through the upcoming weekend on the beach. Jemma was starting to recover, but still needed an early night, so we didn't bother going out to see what goes on in the liveliest parts of Cancún on a Friday night at the start of Spring Break season. ... probably the most visited of all of the ruins and we found it VERY crowded. There were people everywhere!! Many locals come in as well trying to sell souvenir's to all of the tourists. Every 2 minutes someone would be asking you to buy something, 'Only $1 American!' or my favourite, 'So cheap, almost free!'. You are surrounded by people wherever you walk! How has this condo rated in the past?
Nice and clean apartment with kitchen and balcony overlooking the beautiful Cancun beach. Lovely, friendly, helpful staffthat couldn't do enough for you. Met the owner and he fixed the couple of things straight away and even replaced the outdoor setting.
