... shots! After touring the site, we wandered into the local resort to grab a bite to eat – and raid the ATM! We sat on the verandah of a lovely bar and had a cheap meal there of essentially bar snacks – but with huge servings of nachos, guacamole and tacos, washed down with cokes and beers. It was quite exciting feeling trapped by all the water but also quite daunting knowing that the weather could easily be like that for the whole month! This morning was a miracle, the rain has stopped and the was shining!!! For all of about an hour but at ...

... after a day of fascination and wonder, I have nothing to do today. I am eager to get back to the US, pick up my ticket to freedom, my car, and start my trek. I'm also looking forward to seeing Damian and the family. I need some company. I have met a few very nice people on this trip but I'm not going to latch onto their group like some sort of parasite. So I laze around in bed until around midday. I message some loved ones back home and feel uplifted. Time to see ...
