Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina pepsouille... was really fun watching them as they made very subtle movements (especially as the water got closer and closer to them) and moved in small bursts of half a metre or so - some good photos to look forward to. Oh, before I forget, this is where we discovered one of Jemma's hidden talents: Elephant Seal impressions, particularly if she's sporting her grey cloak thing that she bought over here - these were much better than her whale impressions from the previous day.

The next ...
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina jmwaters... in Buenos Aires so decided we had to stop here on the way down south. It was a GREAT decision!

The whales are so close to the shore, literally 20-odd meters away and they are grouped in mating pods of 5 to 15 whales. They play and splash and flap their massive fins constantly.

We also went on a boat trip into the bay to watch them up close. They are completely untamed and are very inquisitive and come ...
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina theblakes... and the star attraction Orcas. At this time of year the Orcars are beaching themselves to catch young Sea lions in the surf. This is just one of two places in the world where they do this. We did sea one Orca swim in and beach itself but did not catch anything. It then wiggled back into the sea. It was quite amazing to watch even though it was quite a distance away from us. Today we are heading to Buenos Aires where we will be learning to TANGO!
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina mattandhelen... lots of wildlife excursions. The sun is so strong I got burnt with even having strong sunblock on, but the beach is beatiful and the people quite friendly. I shared a room with a group of girls from Denmark who were passing through. I only spent one night at this place because it sounded like my bed was in the middle of a highway.
Puerto Madryn, Argentina luvin2travel... comfortable and the food was great. We are now planning to spend a few days in Esquel, then travel 2 hours up to El Bolson and Barioloche. We will then cross into Chile for a bit - quite looking forward to this. We will then return to Argentina for Mendosa before crossing back into Chile to catch our flight from Santiago further North. I will endeavour to upload the photos and film as soon as there are the facilities. Keep in touch. xxx
Puerto Madryn and Trelew, Patagonia, Argentina louiseharris... which was fine, but when we went back (with plenty of empty bottles - from Brian) to get our money on our way to the bus station, they said we only had a store credit and we had to buy something. Again, no problem, we needed some water. After waiting in line for 20 minutes (I would say this is the average wait time in even the fastest grocery line), I got to the register and they said the credit only works for buying more beer. Great...it's just a never-ending cycle ...
Després, tot seguit, tornem cap a Puerto ...
Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, Argentina mariaandeva... was unsuccessful, but it was really beautiful, and we saw some sea lions and some interesting birds. Boo loved the Zodiac ride. There were lots of bumps, and we got sprayed with sea water a lot. Fortunately, it was a warm day, so even though we were a little damp, it was not cold. After our boat ride, we got back on the gravel road and drove for about 1 1/2 hrs to an estancia overlooking the ocean. We ...
Puerto Madryn, Argentina pagentyWe slept in today and then went to breakfast together. Joyce usually skips breakfast, but decided to have some today. We ate outside on the stern deck and I was pretty chilly in shorts and a t-shirt. We have some birds following the ship now. They may be albatross, but I do not know and I never heard anyone with knowledge identify them. I went back after breakfast and took some pictures.

Barbara Kyte called while I was in the room to get the camera. We had first met while waiting for ...
