Starting the day by getting up at 3:30am. This may be normal for Mary but this is way too early for this old guy. Flight is on time so far to Dallas. Meeting the Z's in Dallas. They too had a really early morning. I thought vacations were set up to allow one to catch up on sleep. Well doesn't matter since we are on our way to ...

... and beach stuff - including new costumes for our party on Saturday 30th August, save the date! We sat down and had a coffee for Peter and a horrible vanilla frappe for Sherrie that had more vanilla flavouring in it than an entire cake shop. But the beach was calling to us, so we gathered our things up and spent most of the day on the beach, rotating between swimming in the sea (surprisingly cold), sunbathing (unsurprisingly hot) ...

... carrier at the naval docks. We carried on through towards Virginia Beach. We had been recommended the Cape Henry lighthouse by Robin so we made for there. However we didn't know that the lighthouse is actually in the middle of a US Army base, and as civilians our car would be subject to a stop and search by a couple of soldiers when we arrived! We got through security without a hitch (see the quote at the top). Peter did want to say that he had a sharp mind and ...
